Terms of Use
Effective date:
1. Who we are
The New York English Story Library (ny-eng-stories.vercel.app) is operated by New York English, run by Robert Cushman in Jardines de los Arcos, 44500 Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico. It publishes short stories by New York English students and other authors, to read, to listen to as narrated editions, and in some cases to download.
2. Who can use the library
The front page is public. The library itself is available by invitation to adults (18 or older) who sign in with an approved Google account. Please do not share your account or try to get around the sign-in.
3. Acceptable use
- Read, listen to and download stories for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
- Do not copy, republish, sell or redistribute the stories, narration audio or illustrations, in whole or in part, without written permission.
- Do not use automated tools to download or scrape the site, or interfere with its operation.
4. Ownership
Each story belongs to its author and is published with the author's approval. Narration is AI-generated and illustrations are AI-assisted, both made for the story they accompany. The site's design and software belong to New York English. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
5. Cost
The library is free. There are no payments or subscriptions.
6. Third-party services
Sign-in is provided by Clerk, Inc. using your Google account, and the site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Their own terms apply to your use of their services. See our Privacy Notice for how data is handled.
7. Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the library available and accurate, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. AI narration can mispronounce names or words. To the extent the law allows, New York English is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the site.
8. Ending access
We may remove access for anyone who breaks these terms. You can stop using the library at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Notice.
9. Changes
When these terms change, we update the effective date above. Continued use of the library after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Disputes are handled in the courts of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
